Default Fabulous Fords Forever - April 25, 2010

who's going!?

the entry form is up and available for download at the Fabulous Fords Forever website.

it would be nice to have a couple of people help volunteer for parking and for booth duty. if anyone is entering the show and would like to help park, please let me know right away by PM or email. you'll be able to enter early and you will be treated to a nice lunch buffet. i'd need about 5 people.

LAMC will also have a booth, again sharing with my club's and site's booth. hopefully mark will be able to bring down some of the goodies he carries to display.

this show is always one of the most attended shows in southern california. there will be lots of cool displays and nice featured cars to check out, so it would be nice if the CLUB could have people actually ENTER in support. cost is still $35.

so, if you're registered and attending, please post it up.

whores need not apply, unless you want a ban. i won't even waste time with infractions or the hole.

We'll get her done.

Yeah guys, it would be nice if it wasn't just Damon, Stacy, Trista and me in the booth again.

Could use some club support.

depends. if you just want to help in the booth, then all you need to do is answer any questions if anyone comes around inquiring about LAMC.

nope.

mark, you know the drill. we're going to need fliers for Sinergy and for LAMC. if you had a Sinergy banner to go with the club banner, that would be nice. maybe if we had something that played some media or put together a binder of pics like i did.

oh yeah, don't forget about bag stuffing either.

Now if Mark can hook it up with an 03 Cobra front bumper, that would be tits.

I hear fuel injection prevents over heating and blown head gaskets..

I just cant get into parking in a line of cars at this type show... my shit wants to run, and not many people there want to hear it run.. I wonder if can get kicked out for being to loud and excessive revving, dmark, any ruling on this?? can we get a rev off/ burn out section..?

Years ago upon exit everyone would burnout it was like an unofficial burnout contest, but now buena park pd stakes out the exit for the same reason.

every year, we have people who do excessive rev dumps and blare stereos.
every year, we tell people to inform their club members this isn't acceptable.
every year, people still do it anyway.

don't know what else to tell you miz, it's right up there with people who don't understand they can't leave the showgrounds until 3:00pm.

buena park pd has clamped down on the unofficial burnout area mostly due to people abusing their somewhat lax enforcement in the past. i'm sure i don't have to remind anyone of the incident that took place a few years ago. some loud revs aren't going to bring them down on you so much, but squeal those tires in the slightest on stanton and you might have a motorbike behind you before you make it down to crescent.

Yea, I understand the rules.. it forces us to appreciate these cars as they sit there rotting and not for what made them popular enough to have a car show like this...best part of the show is when the gates open and we get to watch all the cars drive in....

is Larry Ray still part the show organization..

i don't think so.

well, i love to see these cars rolling myself, but i can also appreciate them while they're parked. i don't go to many car shows or cruises any more, but if i had to choose between the two, i'd rather be on a cruise enjoying mine and other's cars.

man, if i had a nickel for every time i heard someone say that about FFF.

ryan, this particular show, it doesn't matter what the car looks like. it's more about showing your blue oval pride than anything else. send in that entry form.

Hey dmark101,

I just wanted to clear up any confusion about me at the FFF show a few years back. My car was cited and towed for me driving my car on public streets with the car being filed and "non-op". Knott's security wouldnt let me bring my trailer in so I was forced to drive across the street to my truck and trailer, which is where the issued lied. But there was never any breaking tires loose in my car...lol...at least not there!

my name is damon, so you won't have to call me by my screen name.

i'm not going to go into the details of what happened that day, because i was there and i saw what happened, as did a couple of others who also post here. i'm also on the car club council, so i know exactly why you had to drive the vehicle into the lot. we have allowed people to bring trailers in to drop off vehicles, but not to park. sears is very generous to allow show participants to park their trailers and tow vehicles in their lot.

BPPD wouldn't cite you because of the non-op, at least not for FFF; they're pretty fair and understanding about that part. if you don't do anything outside of entering and exiting the show in a peaceful, non-disturbing manner, there is no reason for them to pull you over, cite you, or tow you.

in any event, i want to caution everyone who might see this not to whore it up [already stated in my first post] or cause any unnecessary drama. if you wish to do that, i will remove the post immediately.

jason, if you want to continue this discussion privately, i have no problem with that.
